Role Overview:
The HSE Manager will lead and oversee all health, safety, and environmental initiatives across mining operations, ensuring compliance with international standards and local regulations. This role operates on a 4/2 roster, offering a strong work-life balance while playing a critical role in safeguarding people, assets, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and management systems
- Ensure full compliance with local legislation and international HSE standards
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Drive a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization
- Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to employees and contractors
- Monitor environmental performance and ensure adherence to sustainability targets
- Prepare and present HSE reports and KPIs to senior management
- Collaborate with operational teams to integrate HSE best practices into daily activities
Qualifications/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
- NEBOSH International Diploma or equivalent certification preferred
- Extensive experience in HSE management within the mining or heavy industry sector
- Strong knowledge of international HSE standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and risk management capabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Results-driven, with a proactive and hands-on approach

Overview
An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Training Superintendent to lead and elevate site training operations on a 3–6 month contract in West Africa. This role calls for a hands-on leader who can deliver accurate, timely reporting, manage training schedules, and ensure full compliance with statutory, safety, health and environmental standards. You will oversee training systems site-wide, conduct audits of tools and processes, develop structured training plans and KPIs, and produce weekly, monthly and quarterly validation reports. A strong focus on best practice, continuous improvement and measurable performance will be central to your success.
You will work cross-functionally to build strong relationships across departments, manage the annual training calendar, support pre-task risk assessments, and drive safety leadership in line with company standards and regulatory requirements. The role includes supporting and deputising for the Training Manager when required, leading multi-disciplinary training teams, and developing succession plans to strengthen localisation and long-term capability. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and training management systems is essential, along with strong data analysis skills and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (or equivalent), with a minimum of 7 years’ experience managing a training function within a regulated environment. Demonstrated leadership, coaching ability, excellent communication skills, and experience working with external regulatory bodies are essential. You will be proactive, highly organised, safety-focused and capable of managing multiple programs under pressure while consistently meeting deadlines. This is a rewarding short-term contract for a confident training professional ready to make immediate impact.

A major mining operation in West Africa is seeking an experienced Traffic Management Superintendent to take charge of journey management safety across a 140 km public route linking the mine to key logistics corridors. With over 60 heavy vehicles moving daily through active villages where pedestrians, children, livestock and motorcycles share the road, safety and security are not footnotes, they are the headline. This role will lead a comprehensive audit of road conditions, haulage practices and traffic controls, identifying risks and implementing practical, high impact improvements.
You will assess route integrity, driver behaviour, community interface risks, signage, speed management, convoy protocols and contractor compliance. Working closely with operations, security, HSE and community stakeholders, you will strengthen traffic management systems to protect people, assets and reputation. The goal is clear: safer roads, stronger controls and visible leadership on the ground.
The ideal candidate brings substantial mine site or heavy haulage experience, proven expertise in traffic risk assessments and audits, and a strong understanding of operating in remote or community sensitive environments. This is a 3 month FIFO assignment on a 4/2 roster, suited to a decisive safety leader ready to step in, steady the wheel and deliver measurable improvements from day one.
