Overview
An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Training Superintendent to lead and elevate site training operations on a 3–6 month contract in West Africa. This role calls for a hands-on leader who can deliver accurate, timely reporting, manage training schedules, and ensure full compliance with statutory, safety, health and environmental standards. You will oversee training systems site-wide, conduct audits of tools and processes, develop structured training plans and KPIs, and produce weekly, monthly and quarterly validation reports. A strong focus on best practice, continuous improvement and measurable performance will be central to your success.
You will work cross-functionally to build strong relationships across departments, manage the annual training calendar, support pre-task risk assessments, and drive safety leadership in line with company standards and regulatory requirements. The role includes supporting and deputising for the Training Manager when required, leading multi-disciplinary training teams, and developing succession plans to strengthen localisation and long-term capability. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and training management systems is essential, along with strong data analysis skills and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (or equivalent), with a minimum of 7 years’ experience managing a training function within a regulated environment. Demonstrated leadership, coaching ability, excellent communication skills, and experience working with external regulatory bodies are essential. You will be proactive, highly organised, safety-focused and capable of managing multiple programs under pressure while consistently meeting deadlines.
