"In 2011, at 24, I embarked on a mission to eliminate injuries and fatalities on mining sites across Ghana. This journey had deeper roots, inspired by my grandfather's tragic mining accident, which left him partially paralysed.
My path into the recruitment world began in 2008, starting in London....
After a series of tumultuous experiences, including being fired from three recruitment companies within three years, I found myself at a low point. Struggling financially and facing a lack of career prospects, I was determined to turn my life around.
With lessons learned from my diverse experiences in each of those three recruitment companies, I ventured into the Ghanaian mining industry. I believed I could leverage my recruitment knowledge aligned to my cultural understanding to foster a safer environment in mining. This led to the birth of Williams Mining, with a singular mission to eradicate injuries and fatalities in the Ghanaian mining sector. Within just two years, our clients in Ghana achieved the best safety records in West Africa, and we knew we were making a difference that would have made my grandad proud.
While safety remains a fundamental pillar of our company, we quickly realised its broader applications. By appointing key leaders who champion a culture of excellence, we have been able to influence safety, sustainable development, production, and the creation of greater opportunities.
Over twelve years, we have excelled in our work with mining companies in 36 countries spanning four continents, appointing 200+ professionals to create a better industry and world.
