We are supporting a progressive mid-tier gold mining company with the appointment of a Vice President, Business Development based in Vancouver.
This is a senior corporate role for a commercially sharp, strategically minded mining professional who can identify, assess, and execute growth opportunities across the gold sector. Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development strategy across acquisitions, partnerships, investments, joint ventures, and strategic growth opportunities.
- Identify and evaluate gold assets, development projects, operating mines, and corporate opportunities aligned with the company’s growth strategy.
- Conduct commercial, financial, technical, jurisdictional, and strategic assessment of potential transactions.
- Build and maintain relationships with mining companies, advisors, investors, banks, brokers, governments, and industry stakeholders.
- Support M&A processes, including target screening, due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and transaction execution.
- Work closely with geology, technical, finance, legal, operations, and executive teams to assess opportunity quality and execution risk.
- Prepare board-level investment papers, strategic recommendations, market analysis, and transaction materials.
- Monitor gold market trends, peer activity, capital markets conditions, and emerging opportunities across relevant jurisdictions.
- Represent the company professionally within the mining investment and corporate development community.
Candidate Profile
- Strong experience in business development, corporate development, M&A, investment banking, private equity, or strategic advisory within mining.
- Excellent understanding of gold mining assets, project development, valuation, due diligence, and transaction structuring.
- Strong commercial judgement with the ability to assess both opportunity and risk.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships across the mining industry, capital markets, and advisory networks.
- Comfortable working at executive and board level.
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the discipline required to work within a listed mining company environment.
- Ability to move between high-level strategy and detailed transaction analysis.
- Based in Vancouver or willing to be based in Vancouver.
Ideal Background
The successful candidate may come from a mining company corporate development team, investment banking, mining private equity, technical advisory, or a senior commercial role within the gold sector.
Experience with gold assets in the Americas, Africa, or other active mining jurisdictions would be highly relevant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading people, performance, safety, production, cost control, stakeholder management, and long-term operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Profile
- Strong experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager, Mine Manager, or senior site leader within mining.
- Proven track record leading complex mining operations in remote or challenging jurisdictions.
- Strong safety leadership with a visible, practical, and non-negotiable approach to HSE.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate corporate objectives into clear site execution.
- Strong team builder with the ability to develop people, improve culture, and create leadership accountability.
- Experience managing large multicultural teams and contractor workforces.
- Strong commercial understanding of production, costs, budgets, asset performance, and operational planning.
- Calm, decisive leadership style with the ability to perform under pressure.
- Previous experience in the Middle East is highly desirable.
- Experience working in difficult weather conditions, including extreme heat, is strongly preferred.

Overview
We are supporting a mining client in West Africa with the appointment of an experienced Project Study Director to lead a critical study phase that will significantly contribute to the client’s Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS).
This is a high-impact, autonomous role suited to a senior project professional who can take ownership of the study process, engage effectively with technical stakeholders, and provide the leadership required to move the project towards a robust feasibility outcome.
The initial contract will run for 6–9 months, with a strong likelihood of extension depending on project progress and feasibility results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate project study activities contributing directly to the DFS.
- Work autonomously while engaging with internal teams, external consultants, EPCM partners, and technical specialists.
- Drive study schedules, deliverables, risks, assumptions, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure technical inputs are aligned, commercially sound, and suitable for executive and board-level decision-making.
- Provide clear leadership across engineering, mining, processing, infrastructure, permitting, cost estimation, and project controls workstreams.
- Identify key project risks, gaps, opportunities, and value-improvement areas.
- Support the client in moving the project from study phase towards a feasible development pathway.
Candidate Profile
- Strong experience leading mining studies, ideally at PFS, DFS, or execution-readiness stage.
- Previous experience working on mining projects in Africa, preferably West Africa.
- Strong understanding of project development, feasibility studies, capital cost estimation, technical trade-offs, and execution planning.
- Ability to operate independently with limited supervision.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across corporate, site, consultant, and contractor environments.
- Bilingual in English and French.

- Strong reporting, communication, and decision-support capability.
